The Oracle
The 48, 50 (FX) & FJ Holden Documentation Project.
The Oracle is a knowledge base or database of anything to do with restoring and maintaining your Holden to, as close as possible, its original showroom condition. There were accessories, there were modifications introduced, there were accidents and later parts fitted. Here, with your help, we will try to ascertain what was original and maybe even “live with” the changes that were made to a car. They are older than most of us, after all, and we have seen some changes! The GMH Master Parts Catalogue (MPC) is the basis for the knowledge contained herein.
LOGIN at the top of this page and remember, for now, your LOGIN username is "guest" and your password is "letmein" (without inverted commas), or use the login credentials already assigned to you via your club. It is best viewed on a computer or tablet. If using your mobile phone, the login is at the bottom of the “Tools” menu.
Just search for a part no. or description, in the search bar above, and see how you go, or use the sidebar menu if you know where to look. Links are shown in green. Where there is no link, there is no further detail available at present. Where the same part was fitted to later models, they are also listed, in the hope that it may make those parts easier to source. Click on any image and there may be a larger version. Feel free to contribute information.
Sorry to be up-front about this but its getting more expensive to run this site (~$175/year). I publish this completely by myself so if you would like to offer me a friendly beer occasionally, please do.

If you are a supplier, or know a supplier, please make contact with details of parts available, referencing the GMH part no., and advise the reliability of supply. You will be added against each part no. (or assembly) that you can supply with contact details.
Sources are acknowledged where known. It is not the intention to infringe copyrighted material and acknowledgement will be given if advised. This is a companion site to fxfjholden.com and much information has been distilled from information buried in posts there.
This is a collaborative “work-in-progress”. Information is far from complete, and may be incorrect. If you feel capable of adding information, please advise admin@fxfjcars.com. You can either email content or become a publisher, with more access privileges than a normal “user”.
